Our Teachers

Music Together® instructors are passionate about music and the development of children. They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Shelley is a teaching mom. She has two degrees in education and has spent most of her professional life teaching in informal environments. She first experienced Music Together with her infant son. His love and enthusiasm for music lead her to explore becoming a teacher as a way to learn more about music. Music Together is a good fit for her love of creative classrooms and facilitated learning.

Music has been Becky's passion since putting her little fingers on her mom's piano.  After earning a BA in Music Education from Cal State Fresno and a Masters in Saxophone Performance from the University of Colorado, Becky has a decade of experience teaching, both in the USA and in Guangzhou, China, where she fell in love with inspiring young children as a pre-K and kindergarten teacher.

In addition to teaching Music Together, she is currently a piano instructor at Columbia Arts Academy, with a big heart for beginners.  Fostering young children's joy of musical discovery and helping them grow to love music as much as she does is what Becky loves about teaching Music Together classes.

She first experienced Music Together classes with her daughter and realized what an extraordinary musical experience this program provides.

Sherri has received her Orff Certification and The Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton NJ, has awarded Sherri Music Together Certification Level I status for outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy and parent education. She currently owns a center with locations in Columbia and Lexington.

Music is woven into all aspects of life. Through watching her own daughter grow, Sherri has witnessed that a child exposed to a musical environment thrives in many  areas of development.
